Gulet Charters from Bodrum
The biggest charter port in Turkey, and the natural starting line for the Aegean. Most vessels in our directory are Bodrum-built, Bodrum-based, and know the peninsula intimately. The wooden, full-crewed, two-masted boats Turkey is famous for. The original blue-cruise format — most of our 200+ vessel directory is gulet.
Gulet charters from Bodrum are the natural pairing for travellers who already know which boat type they want and which Turkish port they want to start in. This page filters our directory to exactly that intersection — every gulet based in Bodrum that's bookable through MaviSail.
Bodrum is the centre of Turkish charter. The town built half the gulets you see in our directory and most of the captains spent their early careers walking these decks. From the marina you can be in your first swim cove within an hour, on the Greek side (Kos, Kalymnos) the same afternoon if the paperwork is done in advance.
A gulet is a Turkish wooden charter boat — typically 25–45m, two masts (usually motorsailed rather than sailed under canvas), beamy enough for spacious cabins and big deck areas. Built in the boatyards of Bodrum and Marmaris, sailed by Turkish crews, fed from a galley that's usually one of the trip's highlights.

Frequently asked questions
For gulet charters in bodrum.
When is the Bodrum charter season?
Late April through mid-October. Peak weather and prices: July and August. The best balance of weather, water temperature, and quieter bays is mid-May to mid-June and September.
Can we cross to the Greek islands from Bodrum?
Yes — Kos, Kalymnos, Leros, Patmos and Symi are all reachable. Plan ahead: each crossing needs a transit log entry and the captain has to declare on both sides. Add a day either side for paperwork.
Are gulets actually sailed, or just motored?
Honestly, mostly motored. The rig is real but the trip isn't a sailing trip — it's a swimming-and-eating trip with sail-assist when wind allows. If you want to actually sail, look at a sailboat or catamaran charter instead.
How comfortable are the cabins?
Most modern gulets have ensuite double cabins with proper queen beds, A/C, and decent storage. Older or budget vessels can be smaller and noisier (the air-con sometimes kicks off at night when the generator is off). Always check year built / refit on the listing.
