A Turkish Charter Built Around Your Kids
Sheltered Aegean coves, water toys on every boat, and routes short enough that nobody gets seasick. The Turkish coast is where families discover their kids actually love sailing.
Of all the things to do with kids in Turkey, a gulet charter punches well above its weight. The classic hotel-pool routine is replaced with a different swim cove every day, the kids learn to snorkel, and you skip the airport queues and rental car for a week.
The trick is picking the right vessel and route. We filter for boats with kid-size life jackets, generators that can run AC overnight (essential July–August), and at least one paddleboard or kayak. Routes stay sheltered: Twelve Islands and the Lycian Coast both have crossings under 90 minutes.

Häufig gestellte Fragen
Für family charters.
What's the minimum age for a charter?
There is no formal lower limit, but most captains recommend ages 4 and up — younger kids find the cabin space cramped and can't enjoy the swim stops. Some families bring infants successfully; the captain will help you decide.
Are the boats safe for non-swimmer kids?
Yes. Every reputable Turkish charter carries kid-size life jackets in multiple sizes. Some captains insist children wear them whenever the engine is running. Most cabins also have child-safe latches on portholes.
Will my kids get bored?
Almost never. Between snorkel stops, paddleboarding, kayaking, jumping off the boat, and visiting villages ashore, days fill up fast. Bring a couple of books for the 30-minute crossings.
What about seasickness?
The routes we recommend (Twelve Islands, sheltered Lycian Coast) have crossings under 90 minutes. Bring children's motion-sickness tablets just in case. Open-water routes like the Greek Islands crossing are best for older children (10+).
Best months for kids?
Late May to mid-July, then late August to September. Avoid late August (very hot) and the meltemi-prone first weeks of August.
