Cabin Charter Turkey: How Shared Gulet Cruises Work, Prices & Who They Suit (2026)
A complete guide to cabin charters in Turkey — booking one cabin on a shared gulet instead of the whole boat. How it works, real 2026 per-cabin prices, who it suits, and how it compares to a private charter.
A cabin charter (also called a cabin cruise or a shared Blue Cruise) lets you book a single cabin on a gulet rather than paying for the whole boat. You share the vessel, the crew, the meals and the route with other travellers — typically a mix of couples, solos and pairs of friends — and you pay per cabin instead of for all 16 berths. It is the most affordable way to do a Turkish Blue Cruise, and for the right traveller it is also the most sociable.
This guide explains exactly how it works, what it costs per cabin in 2026, who it suits, and where it falls down compared to a private charter. If you are travelling alone, pair it with our dedicated Solo Travel on a Turkish Cabin Charter guide; if you are weighing it against booking the whole boat, read Private vs Cabin Charter.
How a cabin charter works
The mechanics are simple:
- You book one cabin (or two adjacent cabins) on a set departure — a fixed boat, a fixed route, a fixed Saturday-to-Saturday week.
- The boat fills with other guests, usually 8–16 people across the cabins. You meet them on day one.
- The route is set in advance, not chosen by you — the captain runs a published itinerary so everyone knows what they booked.
- Meals are shared, cooked by the crew and eaten together on deck. Most cabin charters include breakfast and lunch; dinners are sometimes ashore at the guests' own cost.
- You pay per person or per cabin, with a single supplement if a solo traveller wants a cabin to themselves.
The trade is straightforward: you give up control of the route and privacy of the boat, and in return you pay a fraction of a private charter and get built-in company.
What it costs per cabin in 2026
Cabin charters are quoted per person (sharing a double cabin) for the week. Real 2026 ranges, board included as noted:
| Cabin charter | Typical week (per person) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard gulet, shared double | €550–€950 | Breakfast + lunch usually included |
| Comfort / deluxe gulet | €900–€1,500 | Newer boat, better cabins, often more meals |
| Solo (single-cabin supplement) | +50–90% | You pay extra to not share |
Compare that with a private charter, where you book the whole boat from about €6,000 a week and up — only worthwhile once your own group is large enough to fill it. The crossover point is usually around 8–10 people: below that, cabins are cheaper per head; above it, a private boat wins. The full per-boat pricing is in How Much Does a Gulet Charter Cost, and exactly what the fare does and does not include is in What's Included in a Gulet Charter.
Who a cabin charter suits
It is a great fit if you are:
- A solo traveller who wants company and a fair price — see solo cabin charters.
- A couple happy to share a boat with friendly strangers to keep the cost down — see charters for couples.
- A pair or small group of friends who do not have enough people to fill a whole gulet.
- A first-timer who wants to try a Blue Cruise before committing to a private boat.
It is the wrong fit if you:
- Want to set your own route or change the plan day to day.
- Are travelling as a family with young children — a private boat is safer, calmer and lets you control the schedule (see gulet charter with kids).
- Value privacy above price, or are on a honeymoon (see honeymoon on a gulet).
- Already have 8 or more people — at that size a private charter usually costs about the same per head with none of the compromises.
Which routes run as cabin charters?
Set-departure cabin charters concentrate on the classic, reliable routes that fill predictably:
- The Gulf of Gökova from Bodrum — calm, scenic, the original Blue Cruise. See the Gökova Gulf route.
- Fethiye and the Twelve Islands — protected bays, easy swimming. See the Twelve Islands route.
- The Lycian coast Fethiye–Ölüdeniz–Kekova for a more scenic run. See the Lycian coast route.
Departures are most frequent from June to September; shoulder-season cabin charters run but on a thinner schedule. Picking the right month matters — see Best Time to Sail in Turkey.
Cabin charter vs private charter — the short version
Book a cabin if you are a solo, couple or small group who wants a Blue Cruise without the cost of a whole boat and does not mind a fixed route and shared deck. Book a private charter if you have the numbers to fill a gulet, want to choose your own anchorages, or are travelling with family. The full side-by-side is in Private vs Cabin Charter.
