Frequently asked questions
Common questions about the Twelve Islands Loop route.
Is this route suitable for kids under 5?
Yes — Göcek Bay is the calmest stretch of the Turkish coast. Crossings are short and there is almost no open water.
How does this differ from the Lycian Coast route?
Twelve Islands is shorter (4 days vs 7), tighter geographic area, and almost no open-water passages. Lycian Coast covers more famous landmarks (Butterfly Valley, Kekova) but with longer days.
Can we extend it to a full week?
Yes — many captains combine Twelve Islands with a Fethiye/Olu Deniz extension to make 7 days. Mention this in the inquiry.
Are there any walks ashore?
Yes — short hikes from Tersane to its hilltop ruins, and from Bedri Rahmi Cove up to a viewpoint. Both under 30 minutes.
Is mobile signal available?
Mostly yes — Turkish 4G covers Göcek Bay reliably. Bring a Turkish SIM or a roaming plan; eduroam works at the marinas.
What's the best month for fewer crowds?
Late May or late September. July and August see the most boats, especially weekends.
