Sailing Yacht Charters in Turkey
Real sailing — sails up, engine off, water rushing past. The smaller, more focused alternative to a gulet, for guests who want the boat to actually go where the wind says.
Sailing yachts are the smallest segment of the Turkish charter fleet, but the most genuine sailing experience. These are real performance hulls (40–60ft typically) that actually sail rather than motor — engine off most of the day, sails trimmed, the trip shaped by the wind.
Best for guests who care about sailing as part of the trip, not just the destination. Smaller groups (typically 4–8 guests, 2–4 cabins). Crewed by default; bareboat available out of Marmaris if you have a sailing licence.

Wind-driven
Sail up, engine off. Days are shaped by the breeze — the captain picks anchorages that work with the wind direction.
Smaller groups
Typically 4–8 guests in 2–4 cabins. More intimate than a gulet — closer to chartering a friend's yacht than booking a hotel.
Hands-on if you want
Trim a sail, take the helm, learn navigation. Captain teaches as much as you want; passengers can also just lounge.
Anchor or dock
Deep-keel sailing yachts anchor in deeper water than gulets. Trade-off is fewer ultra-shallow bay spots, more access to passages and Greek harbours.

Domande frequenti
Per sailboat charters.
Bareboat or crewed?
Both available. Crewed = captain (and sometimes a hostess) included; the default. Bareboat = you skipper yourself, requires an international competence certificate (ICC) or RYA Day Skipper minimum, mostly out of Marmaris and Bodrum.
How is this different from a gulet?
Smaller, faster, sails properly, less deck space, less cooking infrastructure. A gulet is a floating villa with sails. A sailing yacht is a sailing boat with cabins. Pick by what matters more: the boat or the bays.
Will we get sea-sick?
Sailing yachts heel under sail (lean over) — different from a gulet that sits flat. Some guests find this thrilling, others find it queasy. If you have anyone who gets motion sickness, a catamaran or gulet is gentler.
Do we have to do everything ourselves?
Crewed = no. Bareboat = yes (you're the skipper, you're responsible). The middle ground: book crewed and ask the captain to teach you the basics — most are happy to.
