Gulet Charters from Marmaris
The natural base for routes that mix Hisarönü Bay, the Datça peninsula, and a quick crossing to Rhodes or Symi. The wooden, full-crewed, two-masted boats Turkey is famous for. The original blue-cruise format — most of our 200+ vessel directory is gulet.
Gulet charters from Marmaris are the natural pairing for travellers who already know which boat type they want and which Turkish port they want to start in. This page filters our directory to exactly that intersection — every gulet based in Marmaris that's bookable through MaviSail.
Marmaris is the eastern end of the Turkish charter map — a deep, sheltered bay, the second biggest charter fleet in the country, and the easiest jumping-off point for the Greek Dodecanese. From here a week's itinerary can include Hisarönü's string of bays, the Datça peninsula's remote anchorages, and a day or two on Symi or Rhodes.
A gulet is a Turkish wooden charter boat — typically 25–45m, two masts (usually motorsailed rather than sailed under canvas), beamy enough for spacious cabins and big deck areas. Built in the boatyards of Bodrum and Marmaris, sailed by Turkish crews, fed from a galley that's usually one of the trip's highlights.

Greek crossings
Rhodes is a 4-hour passage; Symi is 2–3. Both are well within day-trip range — most week-long Marmaris routes include at least one Greek night.
Hisarönü Bay
A ring of dozens of small bays right outside Marmaris harbour. Short hops, sheltered swimming, no open-water passage required.
Galley-led
Three meals a day cooked on board — often the highlight of the trip. Turkish meze, fresh fish, regional dishes.
Full crew
Captain, cook, deckhands. You don't lift a line, raise an anchor, or wash a dish all week.

Preguntas frecuentes
Para gulet charters in marmaris.
How does the Greek crossing actually work?
You clear out of Turkey at Marmaris harbour (passport stamps + Transit Log), motor across, clear in to Greece at Rhodes or Symi marina, then reverse on the way back. Add half a day per crossing for paperwork. Captains handle the logistics; you just need passports on board.
Marmaris vs. Bodrum?
Marmaris is more sheltered, has easier Greek access, and is busier with sailing yachts. Bodrum has a wider gulet fleet, livelier nightlife, and faster Aegean access. Choose Marmaris for sailing-yacht trips and Greek crossings; Bodrum for traditional gulet trips and a livelier base.
Are gulets actually sailed, or just motored?
Honestly, mostly motored. The rig is real but the trip isn't a sailing trip — it's a swimming-and-eating trip with sail-assist when wind allows. If you want to actually sail, look at a sailboat or catamaran charter instead.
How comfortable are the cabins?
Most modern gulets have ensuite double cabins with proper queen beds, A/C, and decent storage. Older or budget vessels can be smaller and noisier (the air-con sometimes kicks off at night when the generator is off). Always check year built / refit on the listing.
